Senior Property Accountant – Commercial Real Estate
Our client is a reputable real estate investment and development firm with over 30 years of industry success, is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their growing team. This company has experienced rapid expansion in recent years and offers a fantastic long-term opportunity with significant career advancement potential.
In this role, you will take ownership of the financial reporting and accounting processes for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties, working closely with a collaborative team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and analyze general ledgers for a portfolio of commercial properties.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance reports.
Develop and update budgets and forecasts in collaboration with executives and property managers.
Prepare and distribute monthly financial packages to internal stakeholders, lenders, and regulatory agencies.
Perform CAM and real estate tax reconciliations.
Review lease agreements to ensure accurate tenant billing.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.
Build and maintain strong tenant and team relationships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in commercial real estate property accounting.
Strong knowledge of lease provisions; ability to interpret legal lease documents.
Proficiency in CAM reconciliations.
Experience with property accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, or Sage (preferred).
Familiarity with construction accounting and AIA billing is a plus.
Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
