Our client is excited to hire a Sales Agronomist who will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with area growers, providing expert agronomic advice, and driving sales of crop protection products, seed, fertilizer, and other agricultural solutions. This role combines agronomic expertise with business development skills to help customers achieve maximum yield and profitability while ensuring long-term customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective farm customers.
Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate agronomic solutions, including seed, crop protection, and fertilizer products.
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin goals.
Provide technical agronomic support, including field scouting, soil sampling, and crop recommendations.
Stay informed on the latest agronomy trends, products, and technologies to provide value-added solutions to customers.
Attend and represent the company at grower meetings, field days, and industry events.
Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular reports on customer activity and market trends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Ag Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1-2+ years of agronomy sales or related agricultural experience preferred.
Strong agronomic knowledge and understanding of crop production systems.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive base salary $70,000-$90,000 plus commission/bonus potential
