Field Project Manager/Install Manager (Miscellaneous Metals Fabrication)

Company Overview

We are a leading construction firm specializing in miscellaneous metals fabrication, delivering high-quality structural and ornamental metalwork for commercial and industrial projects. We are seeking a dedicated Field Project Manager/Install Manager to oversee the installation of miscellaneous metals projects in the field.

Position Summary

The Field Project Manager/Install Manager will manage the on-site installation of miscellaneous metals, including stairs, railings, and other structural components, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this role involves coordinating field operations, managing installation crews, and serving as the primary point of contact for on-site activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation of miscellaneous metals, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.

  • Coordinate with project managers, fabricators, and subcontractors to schedule and execute installation activities.

  • Manage field crews, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring efficient use of labor and equipment.

  • Review shop drawings and project documents to ensure accurate installation and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Serve as the primary on-site liaison with clients, general contractors, and other stakeholders to address issues and provide updates.

  • Develop and maintain installation schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines.

  • Manage material deliveries and on-site inventory to support uninterrupted installation.

  • Enforce safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, and participate in site safety meetings.

  • Document and report on field activities, including progress reports, change orders, and incident logs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in field management or installation of miscellaneous metals fabrication projects.

  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication and installation processes for stairs, railings, and structural components.

  • Proven ability to manage field crews and coordinate with multiple stakeholders on construction sites.

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and experience implementing site safety protocols.
