Business/Real Estate Litigation Attorney- Position Overview:  A respected and collegial firm in El Segundo is seeking a Business/Real Estate Litigation Attorney with a strong civil litigation background to join its expanding practice. The firm offers a low billable requirement, competitive compensation, and partnership opportunities, along with the opportunity to originate your own clients. Business or Real Estate background is not required but preferred. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a range of real estate and business litigation matters from inception to resolution

  • Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and legal briefs

  • Take and defend depositions, including expert and party witnesses

  • Represent clients in court appearances, including motion hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences

  • Assist with trial preparation, including trial briefs, exhibit lists, and witness preparation

  • Collaborate with partners on litigation strategy and client communication

  • Advise clients on case assessments, legal risk, and resolution options

  • Maintain compliance with all procedural rules and court deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing

  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience (any substantive background considered)

  • Real estate or business litigation experience is a plus but not required

  • Trial experience is a plus, but not required

  • Excellent writing, research, and advocacy skills

  • Ability to manage caseloads independently with minimal supervision

  • Business development interest or experience is encouraged
