Job Description

Overview: A respected and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its litigation team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and must be licensed to practice in North Dakota. This is a great opportunity for a motivated attorney to handle complex litigation matters with autonomy and support in a professional, team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from initial assignment through resolution

  • Conduct depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and reports to clients and carriers

  • Develop case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients

  • Represent clients in court and maintain strong client relationships

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Licensed and in good standing with the North Dakota Bar

  • Minimum of 3 years of insurance defense litigation experience

  • Strong oral advocacy, legal research, and writing skills

  • Ability to manage deadlines, multitask effectively, and work independently

  • Trial experience is a plus but not required
