Job Summary
Developing and maintaining company inspection reports. Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards. Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State law. Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for gage / fixture design (as needed), development and validation. Including interpretation of customer drawings (Blueprint/GD&T).
- Responsible for ensuring correct measurement techniques are used to inspect part per GR&R results and customer requirements.
- Responsible for gauge review and inspection methods of new parts.
- Responsible for gauge and CMM training for Operations and Inspection employees.
- Responsible for creation of any WI that is required for inspection of parts.
- Responsible for CMM program control.
- Responsible for ensuring proper gauging is available for CMM fixture.
- Responsible for performing capability studies on parts, interpreting data and reporting results.
- Responsible for calibration of fixtures/tools for items verified on CMM.
- Responsible for managing the workload to accomplish multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Responsible for identifying and documenting opportunities for continuous improvement within NSA
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Must be able to work extended hours when required
- Must be knowledgeable in the effective use of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and concepts to assist in process improvements as required. Serve as an active participant in LSS programs that promote continuous improvement.
- Must be knowledgeable in ISO Standards and objectives to maintain and reinforce as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Associate’s degree in a technical or mathematical field, or equivalent
- Minimum three years of quality and or manufacturing experience.
- Must be a self-starter, able to think and act independent of supervisor, and able to innovate solutions to day-to-day problems.
- Must be able to perform computer work.
- Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel, Word, e-mail and Minitab database
- Must be highly organized and detailed orientated.
- Must have knowledge of MSA, to perform GR&R (variable & attribute) on applicable gauging
- Must have knowledge of SPC to perform Capability studies.
- Must have knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO-9001)
- Must be honest, reliable and conscientious
- Must have statistics, and college level reading, and writing skills.
- Must have knowledge of CMM operations including PC-DMIS software
- Must have detailed knowledge of problem-solving techniques (Parato, Fishbone, Brainstorming etc.)
- Must have good communication and supervision skills.
- Tasks require excellent oral, written, and auditory skills for the purpose of training.
- Tasks require reading documents, blueprints, GD&T, and data on a computer monitor.
- Tasks require knowledge of inspection methods and reading measurement tools and instruments.
- Tasks require flexibility and adaptability at a rapid pace.
