Job Description

  • Oversee management, execution, direction, coordination, and development of distribution and warehouse management offering; including developing and managing budgets, new business sales involvement and pricing, employee development, implementation and project management, system administration, warehouse management, customer growth while guiding and directing Managers.
  • Develop warehouse operational strategies for future growth and services of distribution and Warehouse by conducting needs assessments, performance reviews of Managers and employees as required
  • Manages leadership over all current and future facilities.
  • Establishes and Manages key KPIs, that can be measured and monitored to determine success.
  • Proactively manage customer objectives to achieve customer retention.
  • Configure warehouse layout for optimum storage capacity and workflow, perform cost/benefit analyses.
  • Identify and evaluate potential technologies for review, assist with definition of user requirements
  • Develop performance measurements across job functions
  • Develop customer service standards and contribute information for review by Upper Management to meet overall organizational strategic plans
  • Identify areas of operations that need development and integrate innovative changes to maximize efficiency and reduce department’s operational costs.
  • Maintain and improve warehouse operations by monitoring system and human performance
  • Cultivate strong business relationships with customers by assessing complex situations, identifying root causes, and developing solution based strategies that generate positive results
  • Conduct and communicate market research that impacts business
  • Responsible for contract renewal and pricing
  • Cultivate talent through teaching, coaching, and developing on a daily, weekly, monthly basis
  • Hold quarterly developmental reviews providing direct reports relevant feedback to help them succeed
  • Hold team accountable for execution of internal and external commitments
  • Review and interact with sales team to drive business unit growth
  • Responsible for third party  carrier procurement and carrier management
  • Create a culture of continuous quality improvement and maintain reporting of improvement actions
  • Manages business unit profitability
  • Implement and onboard new accounts
  • Ensure all aspects of customer contract are effectively communicated, managed, and documented
  • Prepare and complete action plans, manage system, and process improvement and quality assurance programs
  • Communicate efficiently with CEO & HR  identifying issues of safety, efficiency interruptions, and other issues.
  • Ensure employee safety, Food Safety & Quality (FSQ), and efficiency goals are met by enforcing the company’s food defense and security policies.
  • Compliance with all companywide, OSHA, local, state,  and federal rules and regulations, policies and procedures, Local 630 Union regulations and Code of Conduct standards

     

    Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of  produce and distribution services, and value added services.
  • Good negotiation skills and contracting/procurement experience
  • Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills
  • Advance knowledge and skills with technology (WMS, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Office 365)
  • Vast knowledge of warehousing

Requirements

Experience with Produce receiving, Quality Control and shipping/receiving. Experience with USDA guidelines regarding all produce. Experience with Produce Pro CRM. Bilingual in Spanish.
