Junior Tax Associate
Location: Chicago, IL Type: Full-Time Hybrid Position
We’re working with a highly regarded boutique law firm that’s looking to add a Junior Tax Associate to its growing Private Client practice. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in tax law who wants hands-on experience, direct client exposure, and the chance to grow under the guidance of top attorneys in the field.
What You’ll Do
Research federal, state, and international tax issues; draft memoranda and client communications.
Assist with tax planning for business transactions, reorganizations, and estate matters.
Review tax returns and financial documents to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
Support senior attorneys with IRS audits, notices, and controversy matters.
What We’re Looking For
J.D. from an accredited law school; Illinois license required.
2–5 years of tax law experience (private client, compliance, estate planning, or controversy).
LL.M. in Taxation, CPA, or CFP credential is a plus.
Strong research, writing, and client-facing skills.
