Project Engineer – Commercial Construction (Madison, WI)

A well-established, reputable commercial general contractor in the Madison area is hiring a Project Engineer to support planning and execution of complex projects across industrial, healthcare, education, corporate, and institutional sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily coordination and execution

  • Review/interpret drawings, specs, and submittals

  • Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders

  • Support subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and cost tracking

  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation

  • Partner with field teams to uphold safety and quality standards

  • Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners

  • Participate in meetings, progress updates, and closeout

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field

  • 1–5 years of commercial construction experience (internships included)

  • Strong grasp of construction methods, drawings, and materials

  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused
