An award-winning, top ENR-ranked commercial general contractor in Las Vegas is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator to join their team. The Estimator will play a key role in evaluating project plans, specifications, and documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates. This position is integral to supporting project success — from competitive bidding to effective budget management throughout construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed time, cost, material, and labor estimates.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive bid packages in response to RFPs and project solicitations.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to discuss estimates and resolve scope or pricing questions.
- Develop estimates used for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Generate cost and expenditure reports at regular intervals throughout project execution.
- Track actual costs relative to bids and evaluate cost-effectiveness as projects progress.
- Conduct cost studies to establish standards or identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Review material and labor requirements to determine make-or-buy decisions.
- Maintain and update a database of qualified suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Lead preconstruction and design coordination meetings, providing cost feedback to maintain budgets and ensure constructability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of construction industry experience, including at least 3 years in a dedicated estimating role.
- Proficient in estimating software such as Bluebeam, OST, BuildingConnected, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
- Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
