Now Hiring: Commercial Credit Analyst II – Southwest Michigan (Hybrid Schedule)
Are you a credit-savvy banking professional looking for your next step? A well-capitalized, community-focused credit union in Southeast Michigan is looking to add a Commercial Credit Analyst II to their growing commercial lending team.
In this role, you'll partner closely with lenders and leadership to assess risk, underwrite new and existing loan requests, and help structure deals that support both the borrower and the institution. Analyze financial statements for new and existing commercial loan relationships using credit analysis software (Sageworks experience is a plus).
Prepare thorough write-ups with historical performance comparisons, industry trends, and competitor benchmarks.
Assess collateral and structure credit requests to meet policy and regulatory guidelines.
Serve as a credit resource to lenders, helping define credit requirements and recommending sound loan structures.
Collaborate with commercial lenders and occasionally join them on client visits or business development events.
Review and monitor loan policy compliance, approval conditions, and post-close documentation.
Mentor and support junior Credit Analysts within the department.
Work cross-functionally with other internal teams and support overall credit quality across the portfolio.
3+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis with a strong understanding of financial statement review, risk assessment, and underwriting.
Previous experience in commercial lending or supporting a commercial lending function.
Proficiency with credit analysis tools (Sageworks preferred) and working knowledge of SBA lending is a bonus.
A solid grasp of GAAP, financial ratios, and how to assess multiple corporate structures and financial data.
Strong communication skills—you’ll work closely with internal teams and occasionally external borrowers.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
