Senior Counsel – Commercial Litigation - San Diego

A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Senior Counsel with 8+ years of experience practicing in California to support commercial litigation matters in the Central District of California (CDCA). This position plays a key role in serving as firmwide CDCA counsel, including acting as local counsel and, when appropriate, lead counsel on federal litigation matters. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of CDCA practice and a strong track record managing complex federal cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as CDCA counsel for firmwide commercial litigation matters.
  • Act as local counsel and lead counsel as appropriate in federal court.
  • Manage all phases of federal litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and court appearances.
  • Ensure compliance with CDCA local rules, standing orders, and courtroom procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal litigation teams and outside counsel across jurisdictions.
  • Provide strategic guidance on federal litigation practice and procedural requirements.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar membership in good standing.
  • 8+ years of commercial or complex litigation experience, with substantial federal court exposure.
  • Demonstrated experience practicing in the Central District of California, including familiarity with judicial preferences and local rules.
  • Ability to independently manage federal litigation matters.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
