This is a full-time opportunity ideal for a construction professional with a strong background in preconstruction and cost analysis for public-sector or commercial builds. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Review construction documents, architectural drawings, and specifications to assess scope and requirements
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates covering labor, materials, and equipment
Manage bid submissions for competitive and negotiated work
Collaborate closely with project teams and subcontractors during the estimating and planning phase
Request and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure thorough and cost-effective proposals
Maintain organized cost history and pricing databases to support ongoing estimating accuracy
Provide input on value engineering and project development strategies when applicable
Assist with post-bid activities such as revisions, change orders, and procurement support
Qualifications:
4+ years of estimating experience within commercial or public-sector construction
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field experience preferred
Strong proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel and industry-standard estimating software (e.g., OST, Bluebeam, or Sage)
Familiarity with construction practices, materials, and current market costs
Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines with a high level of accuracy and professionalism
